David J. Uphoff June 13, 1941 - June 17, 2024 MINONK - David J. Uphoff, 83, died on June 17, 2024, at Carle BroMenn hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks. David was born on June 13, 1941, the third son of John R. and Florence (Baumann) Uphoff. He grew up in Minonk and attended the local schools where he was an accomplished basketball and baseball player. After graduation, he attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, receiving his undergraduate degree in 1964. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he received his MBA degree in 1966. He was first employed in what was then the new field of computer science in Chicago. After several years of corporate life, he left for a nine-month tour of Europe. Upon his return, he settled in Massachusetts and resumed employment in the corporate world in the software development/engineering field.
