Herbert "Herbie" Curtis October 28, 1935 - June 20, 2024 BLOOMINGTON - Herbert "Herbie" Curtis, 88, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal. There will be a funeral for Herbie on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Reverend Denny Mallory, Reverend Dr. Kevin Summers, Pastor Mark Wallace and Pastor Doug Shaw will officiate. There will be a visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Memorial Home. Interment will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery. Herbie was born in Bloomington on October 28, 1935. He married Phyllis Lappin on September 4, 1954, in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2021. He is also preceded in death by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one sister, Nancy Otto; and one brother, Bobby Curtis.
