Elaine Jean Cushman September 4, 1934 - July 17, 2024 LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - Elaine Jean Cushman, 89, of Las Cruces, NM, and formerly of Normal, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Universalist Unitarian Church of Bloomington/Normal. Reverend Rebecca Gant will officiate. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. She was born September 4, 1934, in South Wilmington, IL, the daughter of John and Genevieve (Enrietta) Hakey. She married Roger Cushman on August 28, 1954, in Bloomington. She is survived by her husband, and two children: Lori Saiki of Las Cruces, NM, and Steven (Elissa) Stein Cushman, New York City; three grandchildren: Rose DuCharme, Paris, France, Jeremy (Natalie Heer) Cushman, Edina, MN, and Rebecca Cushman, New York City; and one great-grandson, Ethan Cushman, Edina, M
