Montie R. Godwin BLOOMINGTON - Montie R. Godwin, 92, of Bloomington, passed away in his home on Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born in Charlottesville, VA, in December of 1931, to Dallas W. and Willie Mae Brown Godwin. He married Frances Geraldine Dudley on June 21, 1951, in Charlottesville. She preceded him in death in February of 2010. He is also preceded in death by his only brother, Rudy. Montie is survived by his son, Michael (Chris) Godwin of St. Charles, MO; and his daughter Susan Ranney of Bloomington; and three grandchildren: Nicole Leslie, Michael Ranney, and Katie Ranney; and seven great-grandchildren. He worked as a Systems Analyst for State Farm Insurance Company for more than 40 years, moving to Bloomington in 1969 as part of the team that opened the new State Farm Headquarters, until retiring in 1994.
