Thomas James Vielhak August 20, 1947 - August 15, 2024 BLOOMINGTON - Thomas James Vielhak, 76, of Bloomington, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Visitation for Tom will be held from 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Following the visitation a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, with military honors provided by the Bloomington/Normal American Legion Honor Guard. The family suggests memorials to be made to the education fund for his granddaughters or to the American Heart Association. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements. Tom was born in Bloomington, IL, on August 20, 1947, a son of Clarence and Anna (McClennan) Vielhak. He married Cathy Gwaltny on September 6, 1970. She preceded in death on March 12, 2007.
