Michael, 100, passed away to be with the Lord at 10:15 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Carle Bromenn Medical Center in Normal.Virginia was born on June 25, 1924, in Mackinaw to George and Florence (Klein) Schmidgall. She married Paul Michael on November 6 1949, in Normal.She is survived by one son, Larry (Barb) Michael of Normal; three grandchildren, Jeramy (Tiffany Ellsworth) Michael of Normal, Katie (Warren) Darnall of Normal, and Kyle (Mary) Horn of Peoria; six great-grandchildren, Arik Michael, Ethan (Alyssa Gargus) Michael, Ayla (Russell) Shugart, Vinny Armstrong, Drew Ellsworth, and Tyson Horn; and two great-great-grandchildren, Eli and Maverick Shugart. Also surviving is her sister, Eleanor (Will) Uhlman; and sister-in-law, Lucy Schmidgall.Virgina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; daughter, Lynn; one sister; and six brothers.She retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1989.
